I know, I know, it’s not even Halloween yet (let alone Thanksgiving) but I am already feeling the Christmas spirit! I can’t help it, I am a Christmas girl through and through and because of this I seem to get excited earlier and earlier each year! This year I was gifted an e-ARC from Berkley and Netgalley in October and it was a lovely Christmas romance. This book sent me on a spiral and I now have 6 Christmas Romance audiobooks on my phone that I am working my way through. So far I have loved every minute of this and look forward to reading more in the months leading up to Christmas.
I got to thinking though, I can’t be the only one out there that loves a good Christmas book or Hallmark Christmas movie (which a lot of these books are based on). And then I started to think, with all the book shortages that are expected this Christmas season (along with so many other things), this is a great time to recommend a few Hallmark movies and books to purchase early for loved ones!
First off, here are a few Hallmark movies that go their origin in books and would be perfect for any Christmas lover:
Mrs. Miracle (by Debbie Macomber – remade into Hallmark movie)
Summary from Amazon: Seth Webster’s heart never healed after he lost his adored wife. Now, with Christmas approaching, wild twin boys to raise alone, a home in chaos, and the latest in a long line of exasperated housekeepers quitting in disgust, Seth needs more than help to keep his family togethe…he needs a miracle.
Finding Father Christmas & Engaging Father Christmas (by Robin Jones Gunn – remade into 2 Hallmark movies)
Summary from Google: Three days before Christmas, Miranda Carson receives vital information about her long-lost father, and embarks on a quest to find him. She arrives in a small New England town, where she receives help in her search from a charming young man.

Okay, those are just a few of the books turned movies. There are many, many more but I wanted to be sure to not overwhelm if you are a first time Christmas book reader or are hoping to get into the Hallmark scene!
Here are a few of my favorite Christmas themed books to add to your holiday wish list as well:

Again, only a few here so as not to overwhelm anyone, but these few cover a wide variety! If you love a good “can’t get a day to stop repeating story” In A Holidaze is for you! Maybe you are looking for a classic East coast Christmas? Then you or a loved one will devour Celebration at Christmas Cove. Looking for a rom-com that is Christmas and mistaken identity themed? You will NOT want to pass up on Dashing Through the Snow!
Last but certainly not least, here are a few Hallmark Christmas movies that touch my heart and make me laugh year after year:

Again, only a few to get your toes wet and check out here! Christmas Detour is a fun almost enemies to lovers, cross country travel story! It’s a hoot and a half and gives a fun twist to the nightmare that is holiday travel. Matchmaker Santa is the best Christmas switch love story out there! It’s ridiculous and adorable and everyone ends up happy at the end. And last but not least, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is a feel good Christmas story. It has the typical stock-broker-esque boyfriend that gets replaced by the traveling chef and I love it. So cheesy and so good!
If you are looking to gift someone a book or movie or both this Christmas, don’t sleep on these! Check them out, order early and gift a family member some amazing Christmas books and movies this year!
Happy reading!
